One of the "fun" aspects of house sitting is those periods where you don't have a booking. We've just hit one of those times. It's only for a few days but that can be a real challenge. The BIG question we get from people when we tell them about our lifestyle is "what do you do between gigs?" My response is usually "that's when you find out who your real friends are". Fortunately, we have some very special friends who also (fortuitously) have spare room in their house.
This is a lovely house in Gordon in Sydney's North Shore. There is one quirky thing though. You've probably heard of "The House With No Steps" (www.hwns.com.au). Well this is the house with a thousand steps. In itself that's not a bad thing. After all it saves us heaps in gym fees by having LOTS of steps. However, when you have to move all your household possessions in and then move them out again a few days later that's a challenge.
We moved in last Thursday and then move to our next location on Tuesday. Having done all that exercise, moving in, Danita and I are feeling very virtuous and knackered. Hopefully we'll have recovered by Tuesday in time to do it all again.
Hence, this week I'm doing a short post - got to conserve my energy for the next bout of stairs.
